Read this fever dream I had this week.
And tell me w/c do you relate more?
Sir Kael entered the Great Throne Room. He walked past the Royal Court Members, who stood on the left and right sides of the red carpet. He also walked past the Royal Guards to reach King Theron on his golden throne.
In fact, he looked only at the King—and no one else.
Next to the King sat an exquisitely beautiful lady in a flowing, sapphire blue gown. Sir Kael ignored her, too, and kept his eyes on the King.
Sir Kael bowed and presented his request:
“Your Majesty, I have come to ask for a great favor for the people.”
The room fell silent.
King Theron stroked his beard and said, “Wait.”
Sir Kael turned and stood near the entrance. Then, the royal doors swung open again.
Farmer Ben limped in. He wore plain clothes covered in dust.
Suddenly, some of the Royal Court Members left their places. They walked over and stood in front of Farmer Ben, facing the King.
The Court members placed their right hands on their hips and hunched over slightly. Then, they took a step forward with a slow, heavy limp.
Farmer Ben followed them. He did not change his posture; he walked the way he always did—with a permanent limp and his hand resting on his hip.
Together, with the Court members in front and Farmer Ben following, they walked toward the King. When they reached the throne, the lady in sapphire blue stood up and joined them. She copied their exact limping step.
The group bowed. Farmer Ben made his request.
Immediately, the Court members around him and the lady repeated it. They chanted it in unison, over and over.
The Royal Guards escorted the distracted Sir Kael out of the room.
