The Story of Jomar Hilario and His LMS Adventures
Jomar Hilario is a Filipino teacher who helps people learn online.
Long ago, he worked in a big company and helped with events and online stuff. But later, he wanted to teach more people from home. So, he started using the internet to teach.
He found out about LMS or Learning Management Systems. These are websites or apps where students can watch videos, do quizzes, and learn.
His first LMS was Multiply.com. But it closed down. So, Jomar had to move all his lessons somewhere else.
Next, he tried Facebook Groups. He posted lessons there. But it was hard to keep things organized.
Then, he tested WordPress with plugins like LearnDash. This worked better. But he had to fix many tech problems himself.
Later, he tried Teachable. It looked nice and was easy for students. But it cost too much every month.
He also used Thinkific, Podia, and even Google Classroom. Each one had something good and something hard.
Jomar learned a big lesson:
No LMS is perfect.
So, he focused on making good lessons first. LMS is just the container. The lesson is the treasure.
Today, Jomar still teaches online. He picks tools that work best for his students. And he always says:
“Don’t wait for the perfect tech. Teach now. Help now.”
