Starting March 19, 2025, TikTok is updating the Standard Event names for web, offline, and CRM to simplify the setup and managing of campaigns. App Events will remain unchanged. These updates aim to align with industry standards and enhance campaign optimization.
What’s Changing
Please note, these changes and recommendations will be available as of March 19th, 2025.
Deprecations:
The following events will be removed from the new event setup but remain supported for existing campaigns. We recommend the following updates:
Place An Order: Recommend using Purchase.
Click Button: Recommend using ViewContent.
Renamed Events:
No action is required, but adopting the new names for existing events is recommended. These events will be updated across new event setup, management, and reporting:
Complete Payment: Renamed to Purchase.
Submit Form: Renamed to Lead.
New Events:
These new events will be available in event setup, management, and can be used for optimizations, audience building, and reporting. Use them if they align with your business goals:
Start Trial: The start of a trial for a service or product you offer.
Submit Application: The submission of an application for a service or product you offer.
Application Approval: When an applicant is approved for a service or product you offer.
Disqualified Lead: When a lead no longer is qualified for a service or product you offer.
What You Need to Know
No action is required for current campaigns — they will continue to run and report without interruption.
For future campaigns, we recommend adopting these updates to simplify your setup and align with best practices.
